Join Christine Wilcox, owner of Spruce Tip Farm and Nursery, for a seed saving 101 workshop. Seed saving is a great way to increase food security, preserve plant varieties, develop locally adapted plants and breed new varieties, not to mention saving money on seed purchases. For many of the annual garden plants, saving seeds can be very easy. Participants will learn about how, when, and where to harvest seeds, and how to process and store them. Focus will be on seeds that can be readily grown in our Alaskan gardens. Christine will have seeds to share grown and harvested from her Hillside garden.
