About the event

We are potting spruce saplings from the Alaska Community Forestry Program 2026 Seedlings Giveaway. These saplings will be overwintered at the Alaska Botanic Garden until they are ready to be planted in our parks next summer. Thank you to Alaska Mill and Feed for sponsoring this event!

What will volunteers do?

Volunteers will use the supplies provided at the tables to pot spruce saplings. Experience is appreciated but not needed!

What will volunteers need to bring or wear?

Please wear weather appropriate clothing, close toed shoes, and any other gear you like to have when outside (water bottle, sunscreen, etc.). We will provide all tools, supplies, and refreshments needed!
