Mixed Media Celestial Garden Workshop at the Alaska Botanical Garden

Join artist Kate Powers for an evening of mixing floral painting with celestial inspiration. In this mixed media workshop, we’ll layer watercolor, pastel and pencil to create moody garden scenes inspired by the Alaska Botanical Garden.

We’ll explore techniques to add depth and contrast using darker, dramatic backgrounds, and play with resist methods to include celestial elements like the stars and moon. Whether you imagine a dreamy night bloom or a glowing garden full of mystery, this class is all about your own creative interpretation of flowers at the Alaska Botanical Garden.
