    Experience the Garden as a winter wonderland! Featuring botanical themed light displays, ice luminarias, cozy firepits, a kicksled trail, and model train!

    Bring a mug to enjoy hot chocolate, tea or cider throughout the Garden (available for purchase in the Greenhouse).

    This year, we’re offering OFF-PEAK (FLEX) tickets which can be redeemed any evening of the event: January 10th - February 15th

    ABG believes every child learns best by experiencing the world firsthand. Camp activities and lessons foster environmental awareness, stewardship, and help build life skills. All camps take place outside in our unique outdoor classroom, as well as along surrounding nearby trails and creeks.

  • Garden Planning for Success Two-day Class

    Monday, February 2nd & 9th | 5:30 - 7:30pm

    Alaska's gardening season is short and intense! We'll talk about ideal timelines for starting different plants, succession planning, week-to-week seeding, up-potting, and transplanting so you can hit the ground running as soon as the soil thaws.

    Saturday, February 7th | 11:00am - 1:00pm

    Join Ellen VandeVisse, with Good Earth Garden School, for a workshop on practical strategies to optimize soil health for the next growing season. Learn how to recognize nutrient deficiencies, collect soil samples & choose a soil test lab.

  • Image Transfer Prints

    Sunday, February 8th | 1:00-2:00pm

    Image transfers are a great way to use images in your mixed media art. Explore a variety of methods to transfer a laser jet photo or image to wood, paper, and fabric. Taught by local artist Betany Porter.

  • Sustainable Beekeeping in Alaska

    Wednesday, February 25th | 6:00-8:00pm

    Join local beekeeping expert, Tim Huffman, for an overview of the gear and methods used to keep your colonies thriving summer and winter, year after year.

  • Call for Art! Outdoor Mural

    Applications Due March 1st

    ABG is seeking an artist (or artists) to install an approximately 172 square foot outdoor mural on the East wall of the Greenhouse. The selected artist(s) will be awarded $4,500 to design and execute their work by July 1st, 2026. Artist(s) must be a resident of Alaska or currently live in state.

    The Garden is here to help you with all your field trip needs, whether you need us to come to you, or you wish to get away from the classroom and come to us! Programs offered year-round, Monday - Friday.

  • Nationally Accredited Meconopsis Collection


    Commonly referred to as Himalayan poppies, the genus Meconopsis is composed of fuzzy, flowering plants native to the Tibetan Plateau.
