Introduction to Integrated Pest Management

Keep your garden free of pests this year! This presentation will cover insects, rodents, slugs and pathogens you may find in your garden and how to get rid of them.

 

Dr. Casey Matney is with the UAF Cooperative Extension Service as Associate Professor of Extension. His work spans the wide spectrum of agriculture and horticulture in Alaska. Since he moved to the Kenai Peninsula from Colorado in 2015, he has been actively engaged in topics such as soil health, soil testing and interpretation, produce safety, state surveillance of potato scab, high tunnels, and more. While much of his work covers the Kenai Peninsula and Kodiak Island, he also coordinates state programs for IPM, Produce Safety, and Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education. He is one of organizers of the Alaska Farm Convention and Trade Show as well as the Alaska Food and Farm Festival.
