Bilingual Storytime: “Un árbol — un amigo, un bosque — una familia”
Monday, May 19th | 11:30am - 12:00pm
Join us Mondays in May for bilingual storytime as we read in a new language and move our bodies! May 19th’s story will be in Spanish and is “A tree — a friend, a forest — a family” by author unknown. This story will take place outside.
$7 per person, FREE for members & children ages 6 and under (pay at Admissions).

Watercolor Journals
Saturday, May 24th | 10:30am - 12:00pm
Spring blooms are the perfect subject matter for sketching and journaling with watercolors. Celebrate the change of seasons while painting outside in the Lower Perennial Garden and Rock Garden. Explore watercolor techniques, color matching, layering, and shading while capturing botanical nature notes in your watercolor journal.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Sunday, June 1st | 2:00 - 3:00pm
This class includes asana (postures), breath work, and brief meditation after savasana to balance out our practice. The goal of this class is to provide you with a nourishing asana practice and have you leaving the garden feeling relaxed and peaceful.

Tai Chi at the Garden
Saturday, June 7th | 10:30 - 11:30am
Join Tai Chi instructor, Richie Goldstein, for an hour-long Tai Chi class. This low impact, mind-body practice will begin with a short warm up followed by a series of Qi Gong breathing exercises. You'll practice the Yang Style 24-movement Tai Chi with an emphasis on balance, both physical and mental.

Solstice Blooms
Friday, June 20th | 6:00 - 8:00pm
Using using the garden as inspiration, you’ll create your own mixed media compositions with high-quality materials including watercolors, artist crayons, watercolor pencils, and acrylic markers.

The Garden is here to help you with all your field trip needs, whether you need us to come to you, or you wish to get away from the classroom and come to us! ABG Donor Wall
The Alaska Botanical Garden only grows with the sun, the soil, and the ongoing support of our generous community. Consider a lasting gift by purchasing a leaf from the ABG donor wall sculpture. Contributions will be honored with a personalized, engraved metal leaf and make a great gift for friends or family to celebrate an important milestone or to honor the memory of a loved one. -
Repurpose Nursery Pots
We accept used pots in the following sizes:
Round: 1 gal. and 2 gal.
Square: 5.5”, 4”, and 3.5” (deep + regular)Clean pots in good condition can be dropped off with staff during open hours.
Pots left at ABG without staff awareness will be taken to the landfill.

Commonly referred to as Himalayan poppies, the genus Meconopsis is composed of fuzzy, flowering plants native to the Tibetan Plateau.
