Whispers in the Garden
Sunday, October 12th | 1:30 - 3:30pm
Join local author, music therapist and speaker, Katherine Haghighi, for "Whispers in the Garden: A Unique Writing Experience"! Together, we will explore writing in the garden, going beyond “how do I” or “what do I write about.”

"A Truly Unusual Dragon" Puppet Show
Sunday, October 19th | 2:00pm & 4:00pm
Join us for a magical afternoon of storytelling with the Krambambuli Puppet Theater.
"A Truly Unusual Dragon" will have two showings: 2:00pm & 4:00pm
Location: Greenhouse (space is limited)!$8 per person, FREE for members & children ages 6 and under (no registration required; pay at Admissions).

In-Service Day Camp
Friday, October 24th | 8:30am - 3:30pm
Spend the day with ABG as we dive into the fantastical world of the plants and animals of Alaska. Together, we will explore the fables and lore of Alaskan ecology in this fun forest in-service day camp. Magical fall fun awaits! This camp is suitable for children ages 6-12.

Tai Chi at the Garden
Saturdays, October 11th & 18th
11:15am - 12:15pmJoin Tai Chi instructor, Richie Goldstein, for an hour-long Tai Chi class Saturdays in the Garden! Every other week you'll practice the Yang Style 24-movement Tai Chi and Tai Chi Sun style.

Plant Trivia: Spooky Edition!
Tuesday, October 28th | 5:30 - 7:00pm
Join the ABG Education team for a fun night of Plant Trivia (Spooky Edition)! Questions are designed for ages 9 and up and were created by the Education and Horticulture staff. We will have 3 rounds of questions with themes related to, you guessed it, plants!

5- Week Yoga Series
Wednesdays. October 29th-November 26th | 7:00-8:30pm
Join us for a 90-minute yoga practice that is specifically designed to support your nervous system, mental health, and mood (winter is coming!). Each week will include slow & intentional movement, gentle breathwork, cognitive-neuro work (brain love!), as well as guided yoga nidra (meditative rest).

Garden Storytime
Mondays in October | 10:30am-11:30am
Join us in the Garden for a different story every week. This October we are celebrating dance and movement! Come dance, wiggle and get your jig on. October 13th’s dance book will be “I Love the Mounatins” by Haily Meyers.

The Garden is here to help you with all your field trip needs, whether you need us to come to you, or you wish to get away from the classroom and come to us! The Alaska Botanical Garden only grows with the sun, the soil, and the ongoing support of our generous community. Consider a lasting gift by purchasing a leaf from the ABG donor wall sculpture. Contributions will be honored with a personalized, engraved metal leaf and make a great gift for friends or family to celebrate an important milestone or to honor the memory of a loved one. -
Repurpose Nursery Pots
We accept used pots in the following sizes:
Round: 1 gal. and 2 gal.
Square: 5.5”, 4”, and 3.5” (tall only)Clean pots in good condition can be dropped off with staff during open hours.
Pots left at ABG without staff awareness will be taken to the landfill.

Nationally Accredited Meconopsis Collection
Commonly referred to as Himalayan poppies, the genus Meconopsis is composed of fuzzy, flowering plants native to the Tibetan Plateau.
