Spring Clean Up Week at the Garden – Volunteers needed to help set up the nursery, remove  mulch from flower beds, and do light trail maintenance.

ABG Plant Sale & Membership Drive & Grand Re-Opening of "Shop-in-the-Garden" – Recruit a friend to join ABG and come early. Our nursery will be stocked with many new plant varieties as well as old favorites.

Shop in the Garden Open (Nursery and Gift Shop) – ABG and American Horticultural  Society members get 10% discount on nursery sales and gift shop sales.

Guided Tours of the Alaska Botanical Garden – Tour our gardens with an ABG docent  and you are sure to learn something new. Groups are welcome but should call ahead (770-3692) if more than 10 people will be attending the tour. (Meet at ABG Gift Shop)

Discovery Duffels – families and groups with kids ages 4-9 can check out a duffel bag containing a variety of activities for kids. Just ask a staff member or volunteer in the ABG  Nursery. You will need to surrender a driver’s license while you  have the bag. Requested donation: $ 5

- 6pm Storytime in the Garden – Nature stories for kids ages 3-5 with a caregiver.  Cancelled if raining. (Meets in ABG Lower Perennial Garden)

- 7pm -8 pm Acoustic music in the Lower Perennial Garden

Junior Master Gardener Day Camp - Hands-on group and individual activities for children ages 7-11 with a focus on botany, horticulture, and ecology. Led by Patrick Ryan who is a certified Junior Master Gardener Specialist, 1st grade teacher, and a 1999 BP teacher of excellence. $125 per child. June - September ABG Entry Beds Exhibit:
"An Alaskan Kitchen Garden"       
Enjoy an educational display about edible landscaping, incorporating tips about sustainable practices for the Alaskan home gardener.

A Midsummer Gala in the Garden – Enjoy an enchanted evening of fine food, wine, and festive music in a spectacular garden setting.  Join one of our experienced docents for a  guided tour of the Garden or take a leisurely stroll as you enjoy our exclusive Gala preview  of this year’s Garden Art Show.  Children's program from 6 - 8pm (limit 50 children)

12th Annual Garden Fair & Garden Art Show – Family fun includes invitational garden art show, craft  and plant vendors, speakers, demonstrations, Children’s Village, Plant Show for Alpine &  Rock Plants, music, and food court.  Saturday 10am early admittance for ABG members  only.
July 2 – August 20 Thursdays

Secret Garden Series – Tour eight private gardens. Chat with the owners in an unhurried  atmosphere and learn secrets of their success. ABG membership required to purchase  tickets; non-members may join at the time of ticket purchase.

Saturday & Sunday  11am-5pm    $15
 Parade of Ponds – Visit backyard ponds, streams, and waterfalls at private residences  from Chugiak to Girdwood.  Host, Green Acres andscaping, will donate proceeds to ABG.  Purchase tickets at ABG events, Shop in the Garden, or by calling ABG at 770-3692
July 10 Friday 3pm-7pm

 Lighthouse Gardens Tea – Explore exquisite gardens and beautiful views at a riverfront  home in Eagle River; enjoy a light meal and live music. This year's theme is dragons fly.

Anchorage Garden Club’s 65th Annual Flower Show – A flower show at ABG with both  horticulture and flower design exhibits. Anyone  can enter. Call the Anchorage Garden Club (566-0539) for a registration packet.
