Organic Food Gardening

Intensive Short Course

Have a productice organic food garden this season. Learn best methods to ensure soil fertility, pest & weed control. Learn from veteran Alaskan Horticulturist Julie Riley in this short but intensive course.

Spring Clean Up Week
Free admission to the garden in exchange for volunteer work

Rent duffels from the Shop-in-the-Garden. Families and groups with children ages 4-9 can rent a variety of fun educational toys to explore the Garden.

The Sitka Summer Music Festival Visits the Garden!

Zuill Bailey & David Leisner in Concert

Zuill Bailey is widely considered one of the premiere cellists in the world. David Leisner has been called one of the "finest guitarists of all time". Join this extraordinary duo for a lovely afternoon concert at the Alaska Botanical Garden.

This intimate performance in the Garden will feature Mr. Bailey in three Bach Cello Preludes and Mr. Leisner in suite of his own compositions. The two will perform together on Schubert’s “Arpeggione” Sonata and Falla’s “Suite Popular.”

June 3 - August 30 Daily 1pm & by appointment. Evening tours: Wednesdays 6:30 pm

Guided Docent Tours (free with paid Garden Admission)

Tour ABG gardens with a volunteer docent. Meet at entry. Groups welcome - please call ahead.

“Wednesdays in the Woods”

Visit ABG for some mid-week fun every Wednesday evening at the Garden during summer. Workshops, exercise classes, plant walks, herb & plant recipe demos, and more!

Get Kids Outdoors!  Stories & activities for children ages 3-5. Lower Perennial Garden. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

At the ABG Entrance. Enjoy a colorful display of vegetables, herbs, fruit, & edible flowers. Harvest is donated to Bean’s Café and the Food Bank of Alaska
